Today your website is one of your most valuable marketing tools. It's working for you 24/7 as potential clientele look up your website and evaluate your company's credibility before calling or setting up a meeting. In fact, I tell most of my clients to treat their website like they would their top salesperson.
So give your 24/7 sales rep all the information needed to make the sale. Make sure your website has photos and descriptions of your services or offerings. Put some passion in the copy and present your product or service just like you would in person. Think ahead and answer concerns, questions and needs of your potential customer. Do you constantly get asked the same 5 questions? If so, answer them on your website.
Make it easy to contact you and be sure to have forms on your website to capture valuable customer data. Remember, customers are not always ready to buy right away; nurture every lead with social media or e-newsletter communications. Often times a lead will turn into a customer 6 months later as long as you're sure to keep your services top-of-mind.
Your website should be updated on a regular basis. Thirty years ago a sales rep would carry samples and fax orders in. Today, they use an iPad and a smartphone. Has your website been updated with the latest tools available? Start using technology to your advantage.
If nurtured and taken care of, your website will boost your sales and grow your business, and best of all, it will never ask for a higher commission!
